About
I live in Vancouver, am 23, a leo, have 2 cats: Sherpa and Allie, a great boyfriend, and an apartment that I both love and hate.
I am great at starting things, horrid at finishing them. I just became an aunt. I hate being picked up. I need to have goals. I want a vacation. I love
crafts but am not artistic. I love cheesy home decorating shows and the colour blue. I work 7 days a week. Recently, I have developed
a passion for Indian food. Ed has corrupted me and now I am a DVD geek. But, how could you not be? I am scared of rodents and failure.
I don't know what I want to be when I grow up, but I know what I want to have. Is that wrong? I am a book junky. They are so pretty.
I am out of inspiration.

Thursday, January 08, 2004Simple Steps is "10 weeks to getting control of your life". It focuses on four areas each week, health, weight, home, and spirit. Guess what? We're going to try it. Yup. By "we" I mean "me".Step One: Drink Eight Cups Of Water Every Day Easy... totally doable Step Two: Take a Twenty-Minute Brisk Walk Every Day Not so easy... Step Three: Clean Out A Drawer, Cabinet, or Closet Every Week Piece of cake. Step Four: Start Saving $2 a Day (or 1% of Your Weekly Salary, Whichever Is Greater) Hmmm, there goes my morning coffee. posted by S. on 9:39 PM
Wednesday, December 31, 2003Happy New Year!posted by S. on 8:23 PM
Tuesday, December 30, 2003On New Year's Day, my boss is taking everyone in the company skiing or boarding at Whistler for the day. Although it sounds like a lot of fun, I haven't been able to make up my mind about going or not. On one hand, pretty much everyone is going and it could be a lot of fun. But, on the other hand, I can't go skiing b/c of my knee and back and I am too broke to be able to afford to entertain myself in the village all day. Anyhow, I have been mulling this over for the past week or so. The solution presented itself to me today. I'm going to spend New Year's babysitting my niece and nephew and therefore will be unable to go. Awwww.. I'm excited though. I love spending time with Dani, who's almost 6, and Jayden who's 6 and a half months old.Ed hasn't phoned me yet today though, so he doesn't know about my new plans. Hopefully he doesn't mind too much ;) I am currently working my last shift at GI before being laid off until business picks up. I'm torn between being greatfull to have a couple of days off each week and panicy because of the cut in income. My paycheque from GI is supposed to be the money going towards the wedding, so I'm going to have to find some money somewhere. As far as the wedding planning goes we have a ton of stuff to do and for some reason it all involves spending money. We need to finalize our decision on invitations, buy the supplies and make them. I need to order my Pashmina, order my flowers, and find sheet music to Mark Knopfler's song Once Upon A Time....Storybook Love. Why didn't we just decide to go to Vegas? Alright, I am off to pick up my lunch...mmm.... chicken fingers and french fries... posted by S. on 2:09 PM
New Years Resolutions
Okay, this post is for Stephanie. Not that I have anything to say.
Wednesday, July 02, 2003Sorry I haven't posted anything in ages. I've been a bad, bad blogger. Let me start by saying that the stress of my last post has pretty much deminished. Thank goodness! The big news, however, is that Ed and I got engaged last week... officially on Wednesday the 25th of June (i think it was the 25th on wednesday). We've set the wedding date for April 4th 2004. 9 months and 2 days. Insert hyper giddy-ness here. Now is the time that I REALLY need to get off my ass as do the getting in shape and dieting thing 'cause I don't wanna be super fat for my wedding. Anyhow, I need to go get back to the work thing, but I will try to post more details and other stuff in the next couple of days. Ciao. posted by S. on 3:04 PM
Wednesday, June 18, 2003Can you say STRESS? Oh my god. I am a big ball of yucky stress.I can't focus enough right now to write anything more, but believe me I will. AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH posted by S. on 12:41 PM
Tuesday, June 17, 2003Alberta asked if I was going to update today, so I guess I have to. There's not much going on these days to share. It's very hot in my store and it's making me all woogally. I dislike woogallyness. Especially the woogallyness brought on by heat.On the recent purchases front, we (I) just bought a new computer. We don't actually have it in our posession yet, but oh baby, when we do it's gonna be so GREAT! It is so much faster and well, better, than the one we've been using. I'm finally even going to be able to burn my own CDs. Yes, that's right folks, my very own CDs... whenever I want. Oh baby.... Just incase you were wondering, Allie is almost 100% better. Yay. What else? Oh... Grrrrrrrrrrrr. Danielle came into town and didn't even call to say hi. She even went to the Island to see Sha, but pick up a phone to call me? Too hard, I guess. Oh, big news. I lost 2 whole pounds last week. Woohoo. Pretty good, seeing as I pretty much ate what I wanted and didn't diet or exercise or anything. Now, if I can only lose 2 pounds a week consistantly I'd be such a happy camper. This summer I am going to have Thusdays off. It's gonna be SO nice. This Thursday my first. I'm going to a "Indian-Style Appatizers" cooking class in the morning and then I'm going to go to the gym in the evening. Scratch that... my boss just phoned and asked me to come in on Thursday morning. How sucky. Oh well, it's only to open the store. Maybe until like, 2 or something. I'm just to darn nice. That's ok, I need the money. Hey, Jayden is a month old today. Hey -- Does anyone want to give me $30, 0000? I think that I'd like to live in a debt free house. Imagine --- a world where there is no debt... only that month's bills. Sigh. It would take me 22.5 months of work (with no money to ANYTHING else) to pay off all the debts in the house. Stupid education. Stupid credit cards. Stupid hydro/cable/etc... Obviously, I do not get paid enough. Maybe I should sell drugs. Yeah, right. That's a funny thought. The sad thing about buying a new computer (other than the huge debt load I just mentioned) is it means...dum dum dum... no trip to Ikea I'm pretty much just babbling now, so I'm gonna go dust something. posted by S. on 1:53 PM
Wednesday, June 11, 2003Ikea is having their annual summer sale! Hurrah! I'm going on July 2nd, wanna come? Whims and Fancies! Whims and Fancies!I miss Danielle. And Shannon. Otherwise, life is good. I'll be getting Thursdays off for the summer. It's a big relief knowing I'm gonna have some down time. I started a quasi-diet. Quasi because I'm not cutting too much out just yet. However, I am eating at set times ( which is an important thing for my blood sugar levels ) and writing down everything that I eat. I've noticed that since I started writing everything down, I'm more picky about what I eat. My next step is the one I'm dreading...calorie and fat counting. Bleck. Unless I start being more active the calorie goal is 1200 and no more than 30 fat grams/day. On that happy note, I'm gonna sign off and have some pudding! (Ultra low fat but still chocolatey-goodness). Take care. posted by S. on 9:52 PM
